I shot these photos of Kenny Horton In East Austin, amidst total chaos in Nutter’s front yard, and it reminded me of the very fundamentals of freestyle (in my opinion). No one in this session gave a shit about the status quo in BMX, It was rad.
It reminded me that being the best doesn’t fucking matter, How many views your video gets doesn’t fucking matter, how your bike is set up doesn’t fucking matter, how many followers you have doesn’t fucking matter, whether or not you are sponsored doesn’t fucking matter, how you dress doesn’t fucking matter, what place you got doesn’t fucking matter, whats hot and whats not doesn’t fucking matter, pretty much as long as you aren’t an asshole it doesn’t fucking matter, and because just because we have an opinion doesn’t mean anything we fucking say matters…
It reminded me that it doesn’t fucking matter what you are riding, and it definitely doesn’t matter what “they” think, because there is no “them” it’s just you and your bike and you can do whatever you want!
